The Music
Through the study and performance of classical and
multicultural treble choral music of the highest quality,
the Oakland Girls’ Choir develops vocal technique, musical
literacy, expressive artistry, and appreciation for other
cultures and languages.
OGC repertoire is rich in variety, including treble choral
music from unison to four part that is both accompanied and
unaccompanied. Texts are both sacred and secular and include
multiple languages.
Featured works for the 2007/08 season will include Britten’s
Ceremony of Carols, Paul Halley’s “Freedom Trilogy” and
Srul Irving Glick’s “Psalm Trilogy”.
