WESTERN EUROPEAN TOUR

June 17 - June 30, 2008

The culmination of 2007/08 Season will be a twelve-day concert tour of The Netherlands, Germany and Austria. The choir will perform at several churches, an army hospital and an army base. The tour theme is “Voices of Peace” and it will feature “Psalm Trilogy” by Srul Irving Glick and “Freedom Trilogy” by Paul Halley.

OGC will also visit the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam and the home of Corrie ten Boom, a Dutch Christian who hid Jewish people in her house during World War II. Prior to the tour, all members of the choir will read and discuss “The Diary of Anne Frank” and “The Hiding Place” by Corrie ten Boom.

In Spring 2009, we will act in response to our European tour experience by performing a concert featuring “Anne Frank: A Living Voice” by Linda Tutas Haugen. This set of seven powerful pieces takes its text directly from the diary of Anne Frank and is accompanied by cello and violin.
