Artistic Director
Kathryn Barnard graduated from Concordia New York with degrees
in Church Music and Piano Performance and from the University of Texas with her
Master’s of Music. She then taught at the Peabody Preparatory in Baltimore.
Kathryn continued her education by studying vocal development at Westminster Choir
College. She has conducted numerous children’s, youth and adult Choirs in Baltimore,
Frederick, Buffalo, Yardley, and Pittsburgh. She lives in Forest Hills with her husband,
John, and three daughters, Hannah, Christianna and Maria.

Jay Gilmer, Project Manager for FaithWorks,
which provides training and
consulting for non-profit organizations. Jay is also a founding member of Oakland
Service Ministries, an umbrella organization that provides OGC with 501(c)3 non-profit status.

Accompanists
Gail Kusbit (Pianist) graduated from Oberlin College and the Oberlin
conservatory with Bachelors Degrees in Psychology and Piano Performance.
She has been on the music faculty at Geneva College since 1993 and has maintained
a piano studio in her home for the past 25 years. Gail also accompanies instrumental
soloists in the Pittsburgh Area. This is her third year as pianist for the OGC.
Lucy Scandrett (Harpist) received her Bachelors in Harp Performance from
Oberlin Conservatory and Masters of Musicology from Converse College. She was the
Principal Harpist for the Pittsburgh Opera Orchestra for 25 years and Principal Harpist
for the Pittsburgh Ballet Orchestra for 15 years. She is currently Harpist for the
McKeesport Symphony and actively freelances. Lucy is an adjunct professor for Indiana
University of Pennsylvania, Seton Hill College, and Chatham College. She also teaches
at the Pittsburgh Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) High School and maintains a private
studio. In addition, she serves as President of the American Harp Association.
